Ken L. Kenworthy, Jr. is a co-founder of GMX and has been President and a director since the Company's inception in 1998. Ken founded OEXCO, a highly successful, privately held oil and gas company in 1980 and managed it until it sold in 1995. During this period OEXCO operated 300 wells and drilled and discovered seven fields and dozens of new zones. Ken attended the University of Oklahoma and he is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.
Michael J. Rohleder
President
Michael J. Rohleder was appointed as President of GMX Resources Inc. on June 1, 2009. Prior to this appointment, he served as Executive Vice President of GMXR focused on corporate development, investor relations and strategic growth and planning. Mr. Rohleder brought over 20 years of executive management experience to the GMXR team with an emphasis in financing, corporate development and leadership. Prior to joining GMXR, Rohleder served as the Sr. Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing for ON Semiconductor, a $1.5b semiconductor manufacturer (formerly the Motorola Semiconductor Components Division). From 1991 to 1999 he was CEO of MEMEC North America, an international wholesaler of semiconductor components, which was a division of VEBA AG. During his tenure at MEMEC the company grew organically and through acquisition from $18 mm per year in sales to over $2.5b.
James A. Merrill
Chief Financial Officer
James A. Merrill became Chief Financial Officer, Secretary and Treasurer in February 2008. Prior to this appointment, he was employed by the Company as its Controller, a position he had held since joining GMX Resources in August 2006. Prior to GMXR, Mr. Merrill was Controller of National American Insurance Company from 1998 to 2006. National American is a privately-held multi-state property and casualty insurer based in Chandler, Oklahoma, which had net written premiums of $65 million in 2006. Prior to that time, Mr. Merrill was employed by Deloitte & Touche LLP. Mr. Merrill is a certified public accountant holding bachelor's degrees in finance and accounting from the University of Oklahoma.
Keith Leffel
President Endeavor Pipeline Inc.
Keith Leffel has been employed since November, 2001 as Vice President of Gas Marketing and was named President of Endeavor Pipeline Inc. in March, 2008. Keith has 36 years experience in gas marketing and gathering. Keith previously owned and operated GKL Energy Services Company that assisted producers with gas marketing services. Keith graduated from La. Tech University and is a member of numerous industry associations.
Harry C. Stahel, Jr.
Vice President of Finance
Harry C. Stahel, Jr. joined the Company in June 2009 as Vice President of Finance. Prior to his joining, Mr. Stahel was Director of Business Development Finance for Enogex LLC (gas gathering and transportation company owned by OGE Energy Corp). From 1991 to 2003, he served in many roles at Aquila Inc. including Director of Finance in London, and Director of Finance working on domestic business projects. Prior to that time, Mr. Stahel spent five years in public accounting and is a certified public accountant. Mr. Stahel received his bachelor's degree in finance from Washington and Lee University in 1986.
